The English Tradition in Design
English design was created by many different cultures from all around the world. The beginning of English culture and design can be related with Roman invasion 2000 years ago. Romans bring to England great Roman culture, which can be traced in many towns, cities, villages and countrysides. This can be roads, aqueducts, bathes etc. The Norman conquest of England was began in 1066 and have bring to English design a lot of impact from north of Europe. Many castles was constructed after this invasion. Furthermore many English abbeys where constructed after Norman invasion and now can be considered now as an example of traditional English design. Development of manufacture and further industrial design make a very big impact to the English design. Contemporary designers try to use old ideas for modern design in almost all areas.
